Cranial Nerve Lesions including Trigeminal Neuralgias and Hemifacial Spasm

Hemifacial Spasm
This 65-year-old gentleman presented with severe hemifacial spasm on left side. Initially it involved only the eyelids, but later on it spread to the whole face on the left side. He was treated with Inj. BOTOX several times, but it used to recur after 6 months. At last he was operated. The acoustico-facial bundle (Facial and vestibulocochlear nerve) was compressed by posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). The compression was removed. The patient had instant recovery and it is now four years he is without any attack of spasm.
